{BLOOPER ALERT: Ahhhh… just realized NONE of these links worked when I posted this!… hopefully you didn’t miss an opportunity to check these out. Now fixed. Try again?}
I’m absolutely smitten (what the.. did I just write that?) with design blogs these days.
Rob and I are giving our new-old house a makeover so, naturally, design is on the brain. I’m also a little obsessed with fashion and lifestyle blogs, which is quite new for me, since I’ve always tended to lean towards blogs written by authors or poets or just other professional writers (check out the industry, sort of thing). I still read those, but have expanded my bloglovin these last few months to include a wide variety of ideas.
I find it especially inspiring when the blog author is making a full-blown living from his/her innovation from their humble corner on the interweb. Wow. Not something I have my heart set on (although I wouldn’t say no!), but I’m always intrigued by these brazen, Internet-savvy entrepreneurs.
And so, I thought I’d post links to a few blogs that, um, occupy some very valuable time of mine (although you’ve likely heard of some of these blogs before). Here’s something to chew on:
Design
decor8blog.com
-Just a clean, wonderful blog about design ideas, trends and tips. A beautiful read. Written well and makes me want to firggin’ decorate in a major way. Ah!
madebygirl.blogspot.com
-lovely Jen Ramos has a knack for style and is the designer/creator behind popular graphic art signs like “I Love You Blogs and Coffee”…which I own! I had no idea (for real) that she was the brains behind this nugget.
Lifestyle/Inspiration
makeundermylife.com
Jessica owns a lovely jewelry line called JessLC, which has gained incredible popularity via her blog, Make Under My Life, which is also an inspirational stop on my blogroll each day. She has a great concept going about exfoliating the clutter from your life, therefore…making it under, not over. She also interviews other inspiring women in a series called, “Design Your Life” whereby other bloggers, designers and entrepreneurs share their intentions for living well. (And maybe – just thinking out loud here – I would be honored if I someday appeared on that blog of hers.)
kylaroma.com
-Yet another inspirational lady. She’s a Prairie girl with a great outlook on not just life, but her days. She’s honest about her good days and her bad, which is refreshing from the “my-life-is-perfect-every-day” blogs that abound the Internet. Her site is clean and fresh, which is always a pleasure to browse.
Fashion
secondskinstyle.blogspot.com
-Christina is a real gem. She has a wonderful, breezy style about her, but is modest in every way. She includes a lengthy post with her daily wardrobe pics, which is nice. You get to peek inside her life a little and also get a sense for her lifestyle, not just what’s on her hangers, you know? Plus, she teaches yoga, like me!
So, have any great nuggets for me?
