Thats awesome! I hear you with the girl friends. It’s tougher to find lasting girlfriends who are really there for you and you have an equal give and take relationship then it is to find a guy (but I have a guy, so my view is tainted). I hope you and Simone form a lasting friendship!

This is a great post! You’ve described many of the friends that have come and gone in my life. I’m ashamed to admit I’ve even fit the bill in a couple categories at one time or another. As I age I’m learning to spend time with the people who really get it, and get me. I’ve always felt like “where do I fit in?”, I still do sometimes. Congrats on your new, inspiring friendship. That’s the best kind.

One thing springs out straight away Sandy; you pretty much won the “big prize” more or less first time out the blocks with romantic (call it Erotic; it makes you sound more erudite) love, didn’t you.

Other than that, this is nearly something I could have said, except that I’m fairly solitary by nature so not having a huge ring of friends doesn’t bother me much.

hey thats so awesome!!! i recently met up with V from Uncorked, which i wrote about on my last blog and it was fantastic! i can’t help but think i have so much better girlfriends on the internet than i do in real life.

speaking of women, i have written yet another post about such matters of the female gender. sigh. i don’t think i’ll ever get tired of that.

I’m actually more the opposite of you, unlucky in love and lucky in friendship, but I like your synergy strategy…just keep continuing to put out there what you want people to give back and weed out the losers! :)

Great post! I am still figuring out the girl date thing. I meet girls that I really get along with, but it seems so awkward to be all “Hey wanna hang out sometime?” I could use more/better girlfriends in my life. I have the best friend since kindergarten that I don’t see much, and other friends that I hang out with in groups with our husbands, and the friends that I see very rarely to catch up. But I’m missing those “call up anytime for lunch or to go shopping friends.” I had a great one in high school, but life happened- she had a baby, we don’t live as close anymore. And I had a really great one who turned into a roomate, but she moved far away. I feel like I’m missing something without that friend.

And wow that was long. Sorry!

Good for you! I’ve only met a couple of bloggers outside of blogland and they have both been boys. Baby steps. I completely get you on the friendship thing, I’ve had to rummage through the crappy friends too, to find the ones that really matter and the ones that really last.

It’s hard but worth it.
